The CD process consists of 5 main steps


The CD process has many advantages

    Raising of relative humidity levels to between 60-75%.
    Increased humidity levels are necessary for all spore reduction.

  • Condition

    Hold time once relative humidity set point has been reached. This is to allow spores to swell and crack due to humidity prior to gas introduction.

  • Charge

    Generation and delivery of chlorine dioxide gas.


  • Exposure

    Hold time once chlorine dioxide gas concentration set point has been reached.


  • Aeration

    Removal of chlorine dioxide gas from chamber.

  • Safer on materials

    Safer on materials than VPHP, bleach, ozone, and liquid chlorine dioxide solutions.

  • Safest decontamination method

    Safest decontamination method among gaseous and vaporous methods.
